Where did we get her?!

As I was rushing around trying to get us ready and out the door to meet Ben for dinner at church I turned around and caught Ella making faces at herself in our mirror with the following "hat" on. I died laughing.

Spring has hit

For the past week the weather has been beautiful. The rain has moved out and the sun has settled in. As a result Ella and I spend most of our days romping around outside. We have taken trips to the zoo, walks at the park almost every day and Ella has quickly learned how to zoom her push toy up and down the sidewalk in our courtyard leaving me to soak in the rays as I watch from my lawn chair---ahhh the life!

Life update

As I sit bundled up on my couch this afternoon listening to the wind howling outside I realize how nice it is to rest. To just sit in the peacefulness and be still. Stillness has not defined our spring semester. Although my days seem to creep by at times my life seems to be in fast forward. I think this all has to do with the upcoming transition that is lurking in the near future. I do not deal easily with change. I like to be prepared and ready for what is to come. But like it or not there is a lot of change headed my way within the next few months and although there are days that I am bored here in my small apartment, my mind is racing forward-- wondering what, when, how all this change is going to hit.
Graduation is within sight. Our four wonderful years at seminary are winding down and Ben is in the throws of papers, group projects, continuing to lead RCF events, meetings at church, etc etc. He is so stretched thin right now that I honestly don't know he has the minutes in the day to get all that he does accomplished...and do it without any complaints. What a stud. We both long for the sunny, restful Sat. afternoons to just be able to hangout as a family. Hopefully those days aren't too far off.
For those who have not heard yet, we do have plans in place for after graduation. We have been blessed with the opportunity to stay in St. Louis. Earlier this year Ben proposed a postion to the session at the church we have attended for the past four years. They accepted it and he has been called to be the pastor of young adults at the Kirk of the Hills PCA church. We are thrilled and excited to be able to minister to this age group. It allows us to continue working with the college students at Lindenwood, and further build the already established and growing relationships at the Kirk.
So with one big piece of our future set in stone there are many other pieces that must follow. We are hoping to find a house, move and get settled in before our coming little addition at the end of August. Please pray for us as we blindly move forward, confident of the Lord's faithfulness and provisions in all of these transitions.

Ella's first steps

This past week I flew to Ohio to visit my grandparents and to introduce Ella to her great grandparents. My dad also joined us up there which is always fun for Ella because she loves her Papa. He is always ready to get down on the floor and play with her. It was during our time up there that Ella took her first steps. As you can tell in the video we were all very impressed and excited.
